From binoculars and spotting scopes, to tripods and digiscoping adapters, this year I have been working on a whole series of articles highlighting what I feel are the best deals that I have found leading up to Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the rest of the holiday sales season.
Thus, as I was coming across them anyway whilst researching for all the other gear, it only made sense to complete the full setup as it were and also highlight the deals on tripod adapters.
As with all the other pages, I am not simply highlighting any binocular tripod adapter that is on sale. The list of deals below is curated and only includes the adapters that I would personally be happy to use when attaching my binoculars onto a tripod, be that for observation or digibinning (digiscoping with binoculars):
Field Optics Research Rapid-Release Binocular Tripod Adapter

Made from high-strength, aircraft-grade, hard anodized 6061-T6 Aluminium, CNC construction, the updated Gen 2 Rapid Release Binocular Tripod Adapter from Field Optics Research, has been engineered from the ground up for superior quality and performance.
Their redesigned model is tougher than ever while retaining its signature rapid-release functionality. With enhanced stability when mounted, the base of the adapter is directly compatible with Arca Swiss, Manfrotto 200PL and 1/4-20 tripod heads (no adapter plate required).
Whilst I have not yet tested it yet (I want to), the Gen 2 looks every bit the part, is not too expensive and am confident it can set the benchmark for binocular tripod adapters.
Unlike some high-quality adapters that really can cost a lot (sometimes more than $100), I think the list price for this quality is almost fair. The good news for us is that they are currently being offered on deal:

Athlon Optics Binocular Tripod Adapter

I have and use this Athlon tripod adapter. Overall I would describe it as a simple no-nonsense product that gets the job done.
The main stem and foot are made from aluminium, and thus the adapter is solid as well as reasonably lightweight. Not as light as some plastic ones, but I would choose a little extra weight over a cheap plastic adapter any day.
I like the fact that the main body has a thin profile, allowing it to easily slide in between the barrels of most tripod-adaptable binoculars. Note that some binoculars, especially roof prism ones with larger objective lenses (like 45mm, 50mm and 56mm ones) often have a very small clearance between the barrels and therefore adapters with chunky bodies will not fit.
The 1/4-inch threading at the top is standard and thus compatible with most tripod-adaptable binoculars. The screw head is plastic and it does not have a quick release, but these are the only negative points.

Bushnell Quick Release Binocular Tripod Adaptor
Another binocular adapter that I very much like the look of, but have not yet tried is this one from Bushnell:
An all-metal construction (Made from Lightweight Anodized Aluminum Alloy), it has a scratch and corrosion-resistant anodized finish.
Another important feature is the quick-release receiver nut that remains attached to your binoculars once you release the adapter and thus is a great solution for those who often want to swap quickly and easily between observing from the hands to mounting the binocular onto the tripod.

So the way it works is the receiver nut screws into the front of the binocular’s central hinge (see image below), allowing the adapter to snap into place for tripod mounting. When removed, the nut remains nestled between the barrels of the binoculars.
As normal, the adapter uses the industry standard threading to fix onto the 1/4″-20 adapter socket on the binocular.
Current Deal: List: $77.95 – now $55.00 at B&H
