With Black Friday already in full swing, it’s a great time to pick up digiscoping adapters at discounted prices. Below are some of the top deals on adapters I have discovered, including those I have reviewed on BBR and others currently on sale at major retailers like B&H, Adorama, and OpticsPlanet.
MagView Digiscoping System
MagView offers high-quality magnetic digiscoping adapters (for spotting scopes and binoculars). I like them for their ease of use (set-up and forget) and universal compatibility. I particularly appreciate the quick setup and then the reliable, repeatable performance across a range of optics, which has made the Magview digiscoping spotting scope (S1) and binocular (B1, B1 XL) adapters amongst my favourites for testing optics here on BBR.
The beautifully simple magnetic plate design that snaps your phone (very securely) to the adapter attached to your eyepiece, allows you to easily switch between normal observation and digibinning without any hassle, making it perfect for dynamic field use. Move Shoot Move TRIDAPTER 3-Axis Smartphone Adapter
The TRIDAPTER from Move Shoot Move is another of my go-to adapters for testing optics (digiscoping with spotting scopes, monoculars and digibinning with binoculars), here on BBR.
It may be very different in design to the Magview system, but I have found it to be just as versatile and easy-to-use option that provides excellent adjustability for precise alignment with your optic’s eyepiece.
Once again, this digiscoping adapter excels in its ability to work across various devices and eyepiece diameters, making it perfect for users like me who have a lot of different optics, but is also a good option for anyone who is just getting into digiscoping as you can be fairly certain that whatever phone and optic combination you have, this system will work.

Carson HookUpz 2.0 Universal Adapter
This is another adapter that I have used in the past and which is currently on sale – see my Carson Universal Smartphone Optics Adapter Review.
Note: The model that I tested in the review above is from a few years back since then Carson has improved and beefed up on the design and thus instead of version one, I would recommend HookUpz 2.0 option.
Carson’s HookUpz 2.0 is priced at $59.95 (available here on Adorama, Amazon and B&H) and is a versatile tool compatible with a wide range of eyepieces (25mm to 58mm) and smartphones up to 3.75 inches wide. It includes features like glow-in-the-dark components for night use and precise alignment for astrophotography or after-sunset wildlife observation.

Celestron NexYZ 3-Axis Universal Smartphone Adapter
Whilst made from plastic, the Celestron NexYZ looks to me to be a well-made and is certainly a very accommodating (versatile) astroimaging, digiscoping and digibinning adapter.
Like the Tridapter above from Move Shoot Move, it has a three-axis adjustment and wide compatibility (accepts eyepieces from 35mm to 60mm in diameter) and thus includes telescopes with 1.25″ or 2″ eyepieces, as well as spotting scopes, monoculars, and binoculars. With the provided adapter ring, the NexYZ can also connect to microscopes, adjusting to a standard microscope eyepiece diameter of 25mm.

Novagrade Universal Digiscoping Adapters
In terms of the concept, the two Novagrade Universal Digiscoping Adapters are somewhat similar to the Magview system I covered above, but instead of a magnet, they use a non-marking gripper (or two grippers depending on which model you choose), to securely hold onto your smartphone.
Built from lightweight, durable aluminum with a scratch-resistant anodized finish, these adapters accommodate phones or mini tablets up to 4.3″ (110mm) wide and fits eyepieces ranging from 39mm to 60.75mm in diameter( they included polymer compression spacer rings).
Novagrade Digiscoping Adapters also have an adjustable height bar and a second adjustment which allows precise alignment of the eyepiece adapter with your phone’s camera lens, regardless of its position.
Importantly, these adapters are also fully adjustable to avoid interfering with the buttons on your phone – which is a problem I have experienced with some digiscoping adapters.
So far I have seen savings of around 15% offered on Amazon, Optics Planet and B&H.
